Since Dustin had a quick interview with Stewart Patrick, We here at NCSN have taken the time during the All Star Break and asked All Star G'nort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon Talanador, captain of the Company of the Dragon to an interview of our own.
Performing this interview will be NCSN's own Bill Lumberg. Bill?
Bill: Good afternoon, and welcome to another edition of TDL Talk. My guest today is G'nort Dragoon Talanador, captain of the Company of the Dragon and current All Star for the Silver team. Welcome G'nort.
G'nort: Good afternoon, and thank you for having me on the show today, Bob. Can I call you Bob?
Bill: No, my name is Bill.
G: Okay great Bob. Ask away.
Bill: Ahh.. yeah. So anyway, You issued a challenge, so to speak, to current teammate on Silver, and Bladesinger Dustin Manjahcapery. What prompted all this?
G: Well, Bob, It all starts, I guess, from other dueling venues, where I am widely known. And I never held back my opinion regarding anything, and just told it like it is. Naturally, people hate honesty, so, and not just Dustin I'm sure, a bunch of people out there just don't like me.
But this challenge, well, we got a letter from the Silver Captain, A whole greeting thing. I responded by saying I'd duel anyone she felt to put me against. But I ended the letter saying I wouldn't be apologizing for hitting them.
Bill: Apologize? Why would anyone apologize for doing something that you're supposed to do?
G: Hellivino. But she does it, I don't. Dustin didn't like I said it, and got into a hissy fit about it. Letters were exchanged, both of us yelling at each other, neither of us like the other, so in the end, I said I'd smack him around the ring, he agreed. So week 10 it'll happen.
Bill: Wait a minute? He agreed that you'd smack him around? He's got a good record, I don't think he'd go into a match believing he'd lose...
G: No, no, Bob, He agreed to the match. He ain't bright, but even he wouldn't think I could beat him.
Bill: So tell me, G'nort. You seem very confident. What makes you this way? So sure you'll win?
G: Well, having looked at the guys lifetime record, he's rarely faced any real competition, and the ones that were good, beat him. So, I don't anticipate losing to him. I may not get a shutout, but I'll win.
Bill: Interesting point of view there.
G: I know Bob. But you know, I think, when I win, that I'll just grin about it because I like being right. I'm curious how he'd act if he wins. And let me say this. No matter who wins, it's not gonna change any feelings. He'll still hate me, I still won't like him, apologize for hitting someone, or stop being my normal charming self, win or lose. We could be looking at genuine grudge match material here. No doubt people are going to be tuning into this one.
Bill: No doubt indeed. If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet on this one because you obviously are confident, but he's got that hatred and determination fueling him. Could go either way, I think.
G: Well, hatred and anger only take you so far. ::chuckles:: But this is going to be a fun match, for me. Any other questions?
Bill: Just typical ones. How's it feel to be on an all star team with someone you don't like?
G: Well, Bob, it's not that great, but we're professionals, we don't hang out together or anything, so avoiding each other is relatively easy. I don't put personal feelings over my ability to perform.
Bill: That's good. Congratulations on winning your All Star Match, by the way.
G: Yeah, well, that was a hollow victory if ever I had one.
Bill: Hollow? How do you mean?
G: Well, I can't and won't comment on that. Better that way.
Bill: Interesting. So anyway, it looks as though Silver is going to advance to the All Stars Finals against either Amethyst or Sapphire. Out of those, who would you like to see advance, and who would you like to duel?
G: Well, assuming I'll even be dueling, I'd like Sapphire to win, cause Goon is a hell of a cool guy. He makes me laugh. And Mark is entertaining too, with his whole "Markzan" routine. Out of Sapphire, I'd like to duel either Matt Simon, cause he's got a massive win streak going on, or Mark, cause I'd love to whap him for saying "grah!"
Out of Amethyst.. ehh, don't know. Don't have any real preference there.
Bill: Well, that's certainly informative. Thank you for spending the time with us today on TDL Talk, it was a pleasure having you.
G: Pleasure was all mine, Bob. Hope to be here again. By the way, nice tie.
Bill: Thanks.
Bill: That's it for me, here. Good afternoon, and good dueling! |
